Creating the Organization Structure
The Provider Organization module is designed to allow flexibility that should allow the provider company to easily organize their staff and people in services. The Organization structure follows the pattern of a typical business organization.
At the most basic level, a “geographical” organization structure might look something like this:

In the UPI Org structure, organizational layers can easily be added to accommodate highly detailed or complex structures. For example, geographical and functional organizational structures can be combined into a single org structure such as:

Note: Each group name can only be used once in the organization structure. The importance of this will become clear when using reports that document what groups an employee or Person in services is assigned to.
Note: All organizations have a top or root “Administration”. Organizations, especially small organizations, may choose to only have the Administration level and all employees with access to UPI and all people in services would be placed in this group.
Example 1: Geographical/Regional Organization
Key components:
Administration is the top level of the organization. The Administration level has access to all of the People in services in the geographical regions.
