Restricted Service Codes

A subset of the service codes DSPD administers have been designated as "Restricted Services".   In general, the “restrictions” mean approval must be given to the support coordinator by the Request for Services (RFS) committee regarding the service’s purpose and use prior to being implemented in the PCSP Budget.  For example, if the person has never received RHS before and they need a residential placement, the support coordinator is not authorized to load the service in the plan before they have submitted a Request for Services (or an Emergency Request), the committee has reviewed the rate, units and other pertinent information associated with the request (e.g., criteria and documentation), and the committee has approved it.

USTEPS maintains a distinct history of a given service code's rate history in the Restricted Services screen.  The PCSP validates the rate and date range used in the Restricted Services screen against the same data loaded for the service in the PCSP Budget.  If the data match, the PCSP will activate.  If not, the validation process fails the activation process and requires the support coordinator to work with DSPD's Support Services Coordinator to resolve the problem.

The authorization to create, change or remove data from the Restricted Services screen comes from the RFS process.
